Man Ho welcomes guests with a modern Chinese décor and with its corner location is bright the dining room is sun-filled lunchtime. The interior is modern with marble table-tops and wooden floors, which lends the restaurant a traditional feel.
Man Ho’s Executive Chinese Chef Leslie Du takes inspiration from classic Cantonese flavours, and elevates each dish with his very own interpretation. Using a modern creative approach whilst embracing the heritage of each dish, highlights include pan-seared scallops with shrimp mousse in xo sauce; a beautifully balanced dish with a sweet taste and crisp finish, boiled spotted grouper in golden broth; intense silky flavored broth with succulent morsels of grouper lightly cooked. And crispy Gillardeau oyster dumplings wrapped with taro, caviar; freshly shucked sweet luscious plump oyster encased in crispy taro, with the salty finish of caviar.
Signature dishes include the Oven-baked Black Cod Fillet with Spring Onions. Seafood lovers will enjoy the Pan-seared Scallops with Shrimp Mousse in X.O. Sauce. Seared to perfection, the scallops are flavourful when paired with the savoury X.O sauce. The famous Hot and Sour Sichuan Soup is also not to be missed. The whole, fried Beijing duck is highly recommended; sliced and served with exceptional, homemade, paper thin pancakes, cucumber, leeks and sweet bean sauce. Beef lovers should try the roasted beef ribs with black pepper sauce.
Chef Du has a strong background in modern Chinese cuisine, taken after his mentor Modern Chinese Master Chef Jereme Leung. His unique approach to the craft through the application of traditional cooking techniques in modern Cantonese cuisine reflects a style that creates a richly unique identity for new look and feel of Man Ho Chinese Restaurant.
