PROFILE
Ah Yat Abalone Forum Seafood Restaurants serves a fine choice of Hong Kong style cuisine and is located in the heart of Bangkok, on the 2nd floor of the prestigious Arnoma Grand Hotel. The name of the restaurant “Ah Yat” is the nickname for its founder Yeung Koon Yat, the first Chinese chef to be awarded a Michelin star in Hong Kong. At Ah Yat Abalone produce are flown in live from the regional headquarters in Singapore.

MUST TRY: Dried Abalone or the Fresh Abalone set with seven side dishes, Rainbow Lobster Fruit Salad, Deep-fried Prawn and Chive Dumplings.

AMBIENCE
Contemporary Chinese design and copious spacing between tables ensure the dining experience is as relaxed as possible. Tables located alongside glass railings provide brilliant views below, and the restaurant is spacious and well lit. Apart from the main restaurant area, there are eight private dining rooms – six of which have soundproof partitions and a TV monitor in each room that can be opened up to create one large private dining venue. There is also one Private room with a large “top table” seating for 15 diners.

SERVICE
Friendly and attentive service from the knowledgeable staff. All the waiters were able to provide excellent recommendations from the menu of over 500 dishes and for the best drinks to accompany the food (Tsingtao Chinese beer).

FOOD
Ah Yat Abalone serves an incredible, long selection of Chinese seafood from lobster, abalone, shark’s fin, and sea cucumber to live red garoupa, French turbot, pomfret, and Taiwanese snails. The fresh Razor Clams flown in live from Scotland are an exquisite dish that any seafood connoisseur would love, with a rich flavor and an authentic taste. In addition to the vast seafood choice, Ah Yat Abalone serves probably the best dumplings in Bangkok as well as delicious barbecued dishes like the crispy suckling pig and Peking duck. To guarantee the same culinary standard, the kitchen is headed by Chef Ah Fai and manned by a team of master chefs from Hong Kong and China.
