Siam Tea Room offers a choice of sweet treats, including Thailand’s national dessert mango sticky rice, which is crafted using large, ripe local mangoes, and premium sticky rice and topped with sweet, fragrant coconut milk. ABOUT CHEF
Anukool Poolpipat (Aony) - Senior sous chef – The Siam Tea Room, Asiatique the Riverfront
Chef Aunkool Poolpipat has joined The Siam Tea Room, Asiatique the Riverfront as Senior Sous Chef, specializing in Thai cuisine. A Thai national, Chef Aony, as he is better known, was raised to believe in fresh organic produce - his family kept a small garden and sold vegetables and fresh fish. Her mother and grandmother are both renowned cooks, so it was little surprise when Chef Aony embarked on his culinary career.
He initially became a temporary chef at the JW Marriott Bangkok, where, despite having little academic training, her talent shone through. His skill and passion for Thai food have seen Chef Aon win multiple awards and promote Thai cuisine in several different countries. His accolades include winning the Thai Food Contest Culinary Cup in 2009, being part of the TICC Modern Thai Cuisine Cooking Contest team in 2010, and being named the Master Chef at JW Marriott Bangkok. He often uses secret recipes handed down through her family and is now ready to delight diners at The Siam Tea Room with his modern interpretation of classic Thai dishes.
