Nothing Sacred presents an intimate, art‑driven chef’s counter experience where local Thai ingredients, fermentation, and sound‑paired dining come together in a uniquely creative space.
OVERVIEW
Nothing Sacred is a cozy chefs counter located in Chinatown. We have two floors open to the public, and 5 floors in total. We feature an exclusive "sound pairing" with our meal that is custom made by our two time Grammy Award winning head chef. We also serve as an art gallery and feature a constant rotation of Thai artists on our walls. We serve only local thai ingredients, and specialize in fermentation.
AMBIENCE
Our restaurant is rustic, and cozy. Every corner and detail is handmade mostly by the owners themselves. Concrete walls, wood bar and floor, with rich dark green and dark orange accents. Our lighting is low and candlelit, with a romantic ambiance. Our space feels like dining in your best friends home, with music in the background you never want to end. The local artists on our walls add a one of a kind ever changing landscape. Vintage furniture pieces, and old style decor, make for a warm antique feel to our space. Guests sit at a ten seat counter where every seat is the best seat in the house.
MUST TRY
Our menu changes every day so we do not have a signaure dish. That being said our prawn head caramel served between sheets of issan chocolate is a popular dish. Other must try dishes include our mud crab biscuit, which is an american southern style biscuit made with 3 month aged miso made from local soy beans, topped with freshly steamed crab, fermented local cream, house made hot sauce, and row cows milk cheese from chiang mai.
FOOD
We serve a menu of only local thai ingredients, with a heavy focus on seafood. We call ourselves a seafood restaurant. We use japanese fermentation techniques to reimagine typical thai ingredients in extremely non traditional ways. Our food is comforting, non pretentious, and wild. Creamy, salty, umami, ocean flavors. we serve 12-14 courses depending on the day.

ABOUT CHEF
Alex Jarvis is a two time Grammy Award winning music producer turned chef. Hailing from Canada, chef Alex has been cooking professionally since he was 15 years old. Throughout his time in music Alex continued to cook all around the world for his famous musician clients. During covid when the music industry was brought to a halt, Alex dove back into cooking full time, openeing his own Thai chinese restaurant in Canada.
After two years of line ups around the corner Alex decided to close it down and open his greatest dream yet in Thailand. A chefs counter that combined his love for music and food, together with his wife and business partner Nicole. Just like his music, his food is wild and untamed, experimental but approachable. He is a fermentation expert, and has worked alongside some of the worlds biggest names in global fermentation.
