Le Normandie, in the Garden Wing of Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok is known for its haute cuisine, exceptional wine cellar, impeccable service, and elegant setting. It has been touted as the best fine dining restaurant in Bangkok ever since it first opened 40 years ago.

PROFILE
With breathtaking river views Le Normandie serves French haute cuisine using the freshest ingredients, many from the Royal Projects. Service is impeccable.

MUST TRY: Oscietra caviar with sea urchin, potato, and dill; Lozère milk lamb with chickpea lemon and egg plan, blue lobster with white peach, curry, and gnocchi.

AMBIENCE
Fine French dining is about ambiance and the experience. Le Normandie decor is a contemporary interpretation of its original grandeur. The interior preserves the classic elegance of one of Asia’s best-loved French restaurants, together with striking new features such as handcrafted chandeliers. The wine cellar features top selections of both Old and New World wines and a customized dessert trolley. Le Normandie’s attention to detail is mind-blowing. The tablecloth is Garnier-Thiébaut Vosges, France (Est 1830). This famous linens maker supplies the greatest restaurants and hotels in France and worldwide. The napkin is smooth and textured. None of that slinky, nylon napkin feel so often encountered in too many restaurants. Bernardaud, the prestigious French manufacturer of Limoges porcelain made a collection of tableware specially made for Le Normandie. The forks and knives by Christople cutlery.

SERVICE
Supported by a team of experienced and knowledgeable staff, the service is impeccable – personal, but never intrusive, yet always intuitive.

FOOD
Creatively presented with delicious seasonal tastes and flavors, the legendary Le Normandie specializes in modern French cuisine. Using only the freshest ingredients, many from the Royal Projects in the north of Thailand, and the best produce that Chef Alain Roux has to offer, highlights include Oscietra caviar with sea urchin and potato; yellowtail kingfish with oyster and crabmeat; and lamb allaiton with eggplant and black garlic.
