At Khao San Sek, Chef Pam and her team delve into the very essence of what defines Thai cuisine by reimagining the "holy grail" of ingredients that have shaped its legacy. Khao San Sek—a name that not only plays on the notion of revered Thai rice but also symbolizes transformation—represents Chef Pam's unique interpretation of what truly matters in Thai culinary heritage.

It all started with curiosity. Chef Pam embarked on an immersive journey across Thailand, meticulously sourcing ingredients that form the backbone of Thai gastronomy. Through this exploration, she redefined the concept of "sacred" ingredients in her own way, drawing on both historical significance and their intrinsic culinary power.

Each sacred ingredient—rice, chili, coconut, fish sauce, and palm sugar—embodies the core characteristics that anchor Thai flavors: rice as the lifeblood of sustenance, chili for its bold intensity, coconut for its versatile purity, fish sauce for its profound depth, and palm sugar for its harmonious balance. We have searched for the best possible ingredients that Thailand can offer.

We aim to preserve tradition and showcase the diverse natural bounty Thailand can offer to our guests. At Khao San Sek, we invite you to experience these elemental ingredients in a way that transcends convention—where the familiar is elevated, and the timeless is redefined, free from religious connotations but full of cultural reverence.

Khao San Sek has a lively, artsy vibe set inside a restored old shophouse on Song Wat Road, where each floor feels like its own character-filled room with warm lighting, exposed wood, aged brick, and a raw, nostalgic charm that reflects the neighborhood's heritage. Upbeat music fills the space, creating a fun, easygoing atmosphere that is perfect for gathering with friends and family rather than a formal fine-dining experience.

The decor subtly ties into the restaurant's concept of the 5 sacred Thai ingredients—fish sauce, rice, palm sugar, chili, and coconut—through earthy tones, natural textures, and thoughtful details, creating a space that feels rooted in tradition yet playfully modern, like a local Thai home turned into a joyful communal dining spot.

At Khao San Sek, the dining experience is built around Thailand's five sacred ingredients—fish sauce, rice, palm sugar, chili, and coconut—which form the foundation of Thai cuisine and shape the entire menu. Our food is organized into five categories, each dedicated to one of these ingredients, so guests can explore the flavors and stories behind every element of a true Thai meal.

Guests can choose between two ways to dine:
 - Wong Khao (House Menu) — a set menu thoughtfully curated by our chef, designed for sharing between two guests. Each set brings together a balanced selection of savory dishes from different ingredient categories, finished with a dessert course, to offer a complete and harmonious dining experience.
- À La Carte — organized around the same five sacred ingredients, allowing guests to build their own meal and discover each category at their own pace.

Guests who choose the Wong Khao set are welcome to add à la carte dishes alongside, and if you'd like to change your dining format, you can simply decide once you arrive at the restaurant.

To complete the experience, we also offer a curated selection of beverages, including handpicked Thai rice wines (sato), along with signature cocktails and mocktails crafted to pair beautifully with the bold, layered flavors of our dishes.

The World’s Best Female Chef 2025 and Asia’s Best Female Chef 2024, Chef “Pam”, Pichaya Soontornyanakij, has opened a string of successful restaurants and bar. Chef Pam is the first ever Asian and Thai Female Chef to receive The World’s Best Female Chef status, together she also earned Michelin Star and “Opening of the Year” awards from the Michelin Guide in the same year.
