OVERVIEW
Ocho is a contemporary Spanish restaurant rooted in authenticity and driven by a deep respect for Spanish culinary traditions. We source many of our ingredients directly from Spain, allowing us to preserve the true flavors, techniques, and spirit that define Spanish cuisine. Alongside these authentic foundations, selected local ingredients from Borneo occasionally find their place on our menu, not to reinvent Spanish food, but to complement it and celebrate the region we call home. The result is a dining experience that remains unmistakably Spanish while reflecting the unique character of our surroundings.

ABOUT CHEF
Chef Alex spent 4 years on working on the ingredients, until expiration of his rent premise, then he decide to get back to the big city, Shanghai, where his restaurant Alma was awarded with Michelin bib gourmand 2019, Michelin Plates 2020, etc…with all his Spanish cooking knowledge that he learnt in his early career life. That was during the Chinese New Year of 2021, that he came back to Malaysia and never get back in to Shanghai due to pandemic, his director board decided to close down Alma, and he found Kyujin and Ocho, to continue his journey of exploring Sarawakian food & culture.
