Award-Winning Nasi Goreng Daun Ubi

The Award-Winning Nasi Goreng Daun Ubi is Little Fairy Cafe’s most celebrated dish and a true representation of Bidayuh culinary creativity. This unique fried rice incorporates finely chopped cassava leaves (daun ubi), a staple ingredient commonly found in indigenous Bornean cooking. Stir-fried with aromatic spices and local seasonings, the dish delivers a rich, earthy flavor profile that is both comforting and distinctive. Its innovative use of traditional ingredients has earned recognition among diners and culinary professionals alike, making it one of the restaurant’s must-try specialties.

Beehoon Goreng Paku

Beehoon Goreng Paku showcases one of Borneo’s most beloved wild vegetables—the midin or jungle fern (paku). Delicately stir-fried with rice vermicelli, garlic, and flavorful seasonings, this dish highlights the freshness and natural texture of locally sourced ingredients. The combination of tender beehoon and crunchy fern creates a harmonious balance that reflects the simplicity and authenticity of Sarawakian home-style cooking.

Pansuh Ayam

A cornerstone of indigenous Dayak cuisine, Pansuh Ayam is a traditional bamboo-cooked chicken dish prepared using age-old cooking methods passed down through generations. Fresh chicken is marinated with local herbs, ginger, lemongrass, and traditional seasonings before being slowly cooked inside bamboo. The process infuses the meat with a distinctive aroma and exceptional tenderness, resulting in a dish that embodies the spirit of Borneo’s culinary heritage.

Laksa Sarawak

Widely regarded as one of Malaysia’s most iconic noodle dishes, Laksa Sarawak is a favorite among locals and tourists alike. Little Fairy Cafe’s version features a rich, aromatic broth crafted from a blend of traditional spices and herbs, served with rice vermicelli and complemented by fresh garnishes. The complex flavors, combining savory, aromatic, and slightly tangy notes, provide an authentic taste of Sarawak’s multicultural food heritage.

Fried Tempoyak

For adventurous food lovers seeking a truly local experience, Fried Tempoyak is an unforgettable specialty. Made from fermented durian, tempoyak is stir-fried with selected ingredients and traditional seasonings to create a bold and flavorful dish. The result is a unique balance of savory, tangy, and umami-rich flavors that reflects the resourcefulness and culinary traditions of the indigenous communities of Borneo.
