ABOUT CHEF
Born in Chachoengsao province, Thailand, Master Chef Nooror Somany Steppe - Executive Chef and Founder of the Blue Elephant Group - developed her passion for Thai cuisine from her mother, renowned for her fragrant, heirloom curry pastes, especially Massaman. After marrying Belgian art dealer Karl Steppe, a devoted admirer of Thai culture, the couple opened the first Blue Elephant restaurant in Brussels in 1980. For over 45 years, Chef Nooror has served as a global ambassador of Thai cuisine, representing Thailand at international food festivals, private dinners, and official banquets in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
