Built in the early 20th century, Baan Phraya is a historic Thai house located along the riverside, adjacent to The Oriental Spa. It is now reopening its doors to welcome gastronomes for a redefined Thai dining experience led by the talented young Thai chef, Pom Phatchara.

Originally owned by the esteemed couple Phraya Mahai Savanya and Khunying Loearn Mahai Savanya, Baan Phraya once served as a prestigious gathering place where Thai elites and high-ranking foreign officials were treated to exquisite Thai feasts during state visits. In 1986, several rooms in the house were transformed into Thailand’s first Thai Cooking School at the Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok.

Today, Chef Pom Phatchara breathes new life into Baan Phraya, reinterpreting its time-honored Thai dishes while preserving the spirit of its heritage. This intimate fine dining experience immerses guests in Thailand’s rich culture through exceptional cuisine and warm hospitality, ensuring that the legacy of the house continues to be felt.
