PROFILE
Leroy is a fine dining destination that offers a memorable experience with its modern French cuisine. Located along Stanley Street and just a few minutes away from Telok Ayer MRT Station, this industrial chic 26 counter-seat restaurant prepared meal using only the freshest and most delicious ingredients to deliver the menu is bound to satisfy your taste buds.

MUST TRY:
Toasted Focaccia Lardo with Creme Fraiche and Chives, Hamachi with Yellow Curry Sauce, and Iberico pork belly.

AMBIENCE
The curvy wooden counter runs through the entire space in a counter seating setting making for better interaction with the chef. The ambiance is just perfect.

SERVICE
A very dramatic presentation and friendly staff capped the excellent service.

FOOD
There is only a degustation menu available at 3 or 5 courses at lunch, or 5 and 7 at for dinner no ala carte. The first bite of starters such as an amuse-bouche is often all it takes to understand a chef’s approach to food. The superb crispy polenta chip sitting on a folded wire gauze topped with a sweet and succulent amaebi shrimp accompanied with aioli and fennel fronds. main, brandade, is an emulsion of fish and mashed potato, found in Southern France and Spain.

The second course, salted cabbage, is topped with spinach puree, anchovy, parsley, and pancetta. A ball of seafood foam hides ikura and mackerel on a charcoal cracker; and a potato jacket with smoked eel, creme fraiche, and chives serve as hor d’oeuvres which the server calls “tapas” (which is Spanish, not French). They are tasty, complex little morsels with contrasting textures.

The wine list was also very interesting, featuring wines from some interesting countries. After a cacophony of strong flavors, the dessert is no less assertive, although it is nice and refreshing.

SUMMARY
Throughout the entire meal diners, the palates will be subjected to incredibly complex and intense flavors, a veritable crescendo of tasty. From the start, service is usually great and attentive. The car park may be a challenge as it’s street side parking and there is no table but a long bar counter. The portion size is quite small.
